A proposal website that ends with the big question

Tell your story first: the day you met, the moments that mattered, a letter that says why it's them. Then, at the very end, one question with a Yes button, and a No button that won't sit still.

When they tap Yes, there's confetti on their screen and an email in your inbox, right away. You can keep it sealed until the exact moment you choose.

What to put on a proposal page

The page builds up to the question, so think of it as a story with a very good ending.

  1. Your story, start to finish

A timeline from the first hello to today, with a photo for each moment.

  2. A photo from every year

Watching the years go by on one page makes the question feel inevitable.

  3. The song you want playing

Upload a clip and it starts the moment they open the envelope, so it's already playing when they reach the end.

  4. A letter that says why it's them

The honest reasons, in your own words, the way you'd say them on a long walk.

  5. Reasons that build up to it

Let them reveal one at a time, then end on the one that matters most.

  6. A countdown to the moment

Keep the page sealed until dinner, sunset, or midnight. They see a countdown until then.

  7. Your own question

Marriage, moving in, a dog, Lisbon. Write any question you like.

  8. A No button with a sense of humour

It dodges their finger, and after a few tries its label changes to "Nice try".

Planning the day

Set it to open at the right moment

When you publish, choose an opening time. Until then, the link shows a sealed envelope with their name and a countdown, and nothing else. At the exact minute, the page opens. Times are set in your time zone and shown in theirs.

The question itself

Pick "Will you marry me?", "Will you be my Valentine?", or write your own. Yes sets off confetti and shows your message. No runs away from their finger. The moment they tap Yes, we email you.

Sending it on the day

Text it from across the table at dinner. Print the QR card and tuck it into a ring box or a book. Send it from the next room and listen. Or schedule it to open at midnight and be right there when it does. Try it on your own phone first so you know how it feels.

Opening lines for the letter

The letter sits just before the question. These help you get started without writing a speech.

  • I've rewritten this letter more times than I'll admit.
  • Before I ask you anything, I want you to know a few things.
  • The first time I thought "I'm going to marry this person" was...
  • Every good part of my story has you in it. I want to write the rest of it with you.
  • There's one thing I want to ask you, but first, everything else.

How to make it

  1. Start with the proposal example

Tap Start your page. The draft has a story, a letter, and the question already switched on. The last thing they see is "Will you marry me?"

  2. Make it yours, then rehearse

Add your photos and words, and preview the whole thing, envelope and all. The Yes button works in the preview too (it just won't email you).

  3. Pick the moment

Choose a link, set the time it opens if you like, pay once, and send it. When they say yes, you'll know straight away.

Questions

Could they see the question early?

Not if you seal it. Until the time you set, the page shows only an envelope and a countdown, and none of the page itself is sent to their phone. You can also add a password.

What happens when they tap Yes?

Confetti fills their screen, your message appears, and we email you right away with "They said yes" in the subject. If they tap it twice, you still only get one email.

Can I propose in person and use the page as a keepsake?

Of course. Turn off the question, ask on one knee, and send the page afterwards as the story of how you got there.

Can I test it without spoiling anything?

Yes. The preview in the builder shows exactly what they'll see, including the envelope and the question, and it never notifies anyone.

Ask the big question, beautifully

Tell your story, end with the question, and be there when they say yes. Building is free.
